Hexagram 23 · Mountain over Earth

A mountain wearing down into the earth — the old structure falling away.

Splitting Apart is erosion at work: a form whose time is ending, undermined from below. It reads as a time to stay low, conserve, and wait, since forcing what is already crumbling only hastens the fall.
