Hexagram 41 · Mountain over Lake

The lake lowered at the foot of the mountain — giving up the lesser for the greater.

Decrease is willing reduction: letting go of the small or the surplus to serve something higher. It reads as sacrifice that enriches, sincere even when the offering is modest.
